GENERAL DESCRIPTION


Closed cooling tower is a large-scale refrigeration equipment that uses water as a circulating coolant. The facility can absorb a large amount of heat energy through cold water, and then release the hot air through the effect of water evaporation to achieve the purpose of lowering the temperature. Closed cooling towers can be widely used in different projects in the refrigeration and chemical industries. Different applications require different types of cooling tower types, such as counterflow, crossflow, and mixed-flow.

A. CASEN KCN-COUNTER FLOW TYPE COOLING TOWER.

The air inlet is in the form of countercurrent air inlet at the bottom, which alternates with the top spray water to form saturated hot and humid air. The heat is discharged by the top fan, so it is called a countercurrent cooling tower.

The working fluid circulates in the coil of the closed cooling tower, and the heat of the working fluid is transferred to the water passing through the outer surface of the coil through the coil wall. At the same time, driven by the fan, the air outside the unit enters from the air inlet end, and passes through the coil upward in the opposite direction of the water flow. A small part of the water evaporates and absorbs heat, and the hot and humid air is discharged from the top of the closed cooling tower into the atmosphere. The rest of the water falls into the bottom water pan, which is recirculated to the water distribution system by the water pump and then poured back onto the coil.

B. CASEN KCH-CROSS FLOW TYPE COOLING TOWER.

The air enters from the side and alternates with the water spray on the top to form saturated hot and humid air. The heat is discharged by the fan on the top, so it is called a horizontal evaporative condenser.

The hot water enters the heat exchange coil at the bottom of the unit. Cooled water from the unit basin is pumped and sprayed over the heat exchange coils, and ambient air is simultaneously drawn into the unit from both side of fill and coil, that is cross flow to the spraying water. With less wind resistance, the heat rejection can be increased significantly. KCH condensing process is similar to KCF type.

C. CASEN KCF-MIXED FLOW TYPE COOLING TOWER.

The air inlet is in the form of top and side air inlet, which alternates with top water spray to form saturated hot and humid air. The heat is discharged by the top fan, so it is called a mixed-flow cooling tower.

Water is pumped from water basin and distributed over the fill. Air is induced by axial fan through the fill to make water evaporating and cascading downward the coil. The coil rejects heat through both evaporative cooling through fresh air stream and sensible cooling using the pre-cooled recirculating spray water. And the heat exchange on coil surface is mainly sensible heat exchange which reduces evaporation load and minimize the tendency to form scale on the coil.The remaining waterfalls to the cooled water basin where it is recirculated by pump to the upper water distribution system and back down over the fill and coil.

PosMAC3.0(POSCO Magnesium Aluminum alloy Coating product) is a ternary alloy coated steel (Zn- 3%Mg- 2.5%Al) with high corrosion resistance developed with technology of POSCO Group Korea.The steel casing is modular construction with galvanized bolt, PosMAC3.0, corrosion resistant, easier assembly and reduces site installation cost.PosMAC3.0 is a corrosion resistant product that is 5 to10 times stronger resistance than that of a normal hot-dip galvanized steel sheet (GI, GI(H)) with the same coating weight. PosMAC3.0 has an excellent cross section corrosion resistance. For seaside and chemical projects with severe chloride ion corrosion, PosMAC super magnesium aluminum zinc plate is more recommended.

B. ABTI-CORROSION TANK DESIGN

The main purpose of the improvement of the integrated gutter during stamping is to increase the service life of the equipment. The gutter design ensures that rainwater can be discharged smoothly to avoid corrosion problems caused by water accumulation.

C. CASEN EFFICIENT-ELLIPTIC HEAT TRANSFER TUBE

The elliptical tube design maximized the effective tube surface area while lowering airside pressure drop and allowing for higher water loading. The combination of the elliptical shape tube in the Efficient-Elliptic® orientation increased heat transfer efficiency and resulted in the most capacity per plan area of any evaporative condenser on the market.
Oval tube coil utilized the same material tube introduced in the original coil, but changed the orientation of the tubes to improve the tubes air to water interface for increased heat transfer efficiency.
